music theatre: Rosenkavalier

The scent of pheromones and testosterone in the room was too strong to break through the persian rose oil’s frangrance. The air was stuffy. The clock did it’s rounds. Everybody in the room was trying hard not to look. The din of many voices echoed in the hallway. Right in the traditional rose delivery the postillon d’amour Octavian falls in love with Sophie: an arms dealer and nouveau riche’s daughter, who is already promised to baron Ochs. But times have changed. The Marschallin knows everything. If she could only let go of Octavian and the past…

Students of TU Berlin Bühnenbild_Szenischer Raum cooperated with students of directing of Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler to work on excerpts of the opera ‘Rosenkavalier’ (R. Strauss/Hugo von Hofmannsthal). The shows are staged on january 14th and 15th 2017 and are performed by students of singing, coaching and orchestra conduction of HfM Hanns Eisler.
