1999-2007 study of architecture, film and photography at Technical University Berlin and University of North London (Architecture diploma thesis on “Poetic Space”); scholarship „Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes“ (German National Academic Foundation), DAAD and Erasmus. Since 2004 freelancer in the field of architecture communication and culture management for Goldmann PR München and AKM Ute Heimrod Berlin. 2004 internship at stageworkshop Bayerische Staatsoper München; 2006 and 2007 stage design assistance at Staatsoper Berlin (Peter Mussbach “Armida” and Nigel Lowery „La clemenza di Tito“, 2008 stage design assistance Opera du Rhin Strasbourg / France (Andreas Baesler “Fidelio”). 2006 founding of architectural office “studio ritter”, worked as an architect.

Since 2008 project director and assistent professor at master programme Bühnenbild_Szenischer Raum TU Berlin, lecturer at Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin programme theatre and Master degree course of architecture TU Berlin. Since 2014 Franziska Ritter ist directing the DFG research project “Collection of Theatre Architecture“.

Freelancing as flutist in several orchestras and ensembles, since 1986 musical education for the flute (national award Jugend Musiziert), founder of wood wind quintet.
