Michael Hegewald

Painter, Graphic Designer

Michael Hegewald, born in 1955 in Berlin, took a night school degree at the 
Kunsthochschule (KHB) Berlin-Weißensee from 1972–1975 and went on to study paining at the KHB under Dietrich Noßky and Dieter Goltzsche. Hegewald obtained his diploma in 1983 and has since worked as a painter and graphic artist featuring in 52 solo and 60 group exhibitions. Parallel to this for the past 30 years he has been teaching painting, colour theory, design, anatomic drawing, creativity training and elementary design at the following institutions: Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee, the Best-Sabel-Schule für Design, Berlin-Köpenick. He also runs art courses and summer workshops in Germany and abroad (i.e. Podewilsches Palais, Kunsthaus e.V.).
