Norman Heinrich

Stage and Costume Designer

Norman Heinrich was born in 1965. Beside his work as graduate engineer and site manager he has been member of different theatre groups in Weimar and Dresden an worked as an extra / artist at the Semperoper Dresden. He completed his masters degree program stage – and costume design with Prof. Peter Sykora at TU Berlin. Within the context of a realisation-competition his design for the children’s opera “Dr. Ox” was realised. After his studies he engaged hisself as assistant for stage design and worked for two seasons at Berliner Ensemble with Claus Peymann. Beside this he worked together with stage designers Achim Freyer, Karl-Ernst Herrmann and Frank Hänig. Since 2007 is Norman Heinrich working as a freelancer. Numerous cooperations with productions for theatres and operas led him i.a. to Zurich, Dresden, Munich, Leipzig, Erfurt and Chemnitz. A long-standing cooperation connects him particulary with Peter Sykora. From October 2012 to November 2014 he worked as temporary head of stage design for the theatre Erfurt. During the time in Erfurt he worked out four productions, among them the stage scenery for the première of the opera “Die Frauen der Toten” from Alois Bröder. The cooperation in different open air productions, exhibition creations and 3 operas in a reflecting tent extended his activity area.
