Art Space Protestant Markus Church in Berlin Steglitz

A walk-in installation of the “Christmas Story”

An installation art space in the form of a contemporary translation of the “Christmas Story” (birth of Jesus) was realized for the empty church space of the Protestant Markus Church in Berlin Steglitz. In addition to developing a contemporary scenography (spatial design, light, projection, video, sound), archaic elements such as fire were also integrated. As a transit, entry and exit from the church space were given special significance, and the church forecourt and tower were also included in the design. The installation of a common concept was realised on site by the entire group of eight students.
