“The most sustainable stage design is the one that isn’t built at all…” – this radical stance may be true, but it’s not right. Because no theater, no culture, no art is not a solution. On the contrary! Theater, art, and culture are not part of the problem, but part of the solution. Thinking about theater sustainably, designing and producing stage sets sustainably – how can this be achieved? What opportunities does this offer set designers? Where do the challenges lie? Using sample productions, Lecturer Ralph Zeger will present solutions, show best practices, and also address the difficulties. This will encourage reflection on what it means to create theater in times of climate change.
