Christina Mrosek

Stage and Costume Designer

Christina Mrosek is a freelance stage and costume designer from Berlin. She completed her studies in stage design in Hamburg at the University of Fine Arts. Since 2007 she has been working in German-speaking countries for municipal theaters and operas, such as the National Theater Mannheim, Theater Oberhausen, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Theater Aachen, Theater Basel, E.T.A.-Hoffmann-Theater Bamberg, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Theater Regensburg. At the same time, as a scenographic exhibition designer, she also strives for an aesthetic approach to spaces far removed from the theater. In 2013, she was a fellow of the 49th International Forum of the Berlin Theatertreffen. In 2018, she was a mentee of the mentoring program “Women in Culture and Media” of the German Cultural Council.
For more than 15 years, she has shared a content-related artistic collaboration with director Cilli Drexel. Their joint focus is on the realization/space conception for new drama and world premieres.
Numerous works have won awards and been invited to festivals such as the Autorentheatertage and the Mülheimer Theatertage. The joint production “europa verteidigen” by Konstantin Küspert at the E.T.A.-Hoffmann-Theater Bamberg was awarded the audience prize at the Mülheimer Theatertage “Stücke 2017”.
Christina Mrosek was an adjunct lecturer at the UdK Berlin in the stage design course and in the theater pedagogy course. Since WS 2018/2019 Christina Mrosek has been teaching regularly at the TU Berlin in the master’s degree program Stage Design_Scenic Space.
