Eva Veronica Born studied architecture at Universität der Künste Berlin and at Akademie der bildenden Künste Vienna. After receiving her diploma, she has been working as a freelance scenographer since 2012.
In the field of tension between urban space, stage design and architecture, she develops objects, spaces, installations as well as artistic processes for various theaters, festivals and museum spaces including Volksbühne Berlin, Münchner Kammerspiele, Ruhrtriennale, Theater der Welt, Humboldtforum Berlin, Martin-Gropius-Bau, OperaBallet Vlaanderen and Theater Basel.
She is very committed to the sustainable production of stage spaces in various theatres and developed the circular project ‘Theatre / Material / Circulation’ in 2022 in co-production with Kunst-Stoffe Berlin, the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Berliner Festspiele, documenta fifteen and the Vienna Volkstheater, funded by the Fonds Darstellende Künste.
Between 2015 – 2022 she was part of the team of the Berlin Theatertreffen and created the festival campus in and around the Festspielhaus every year and since 2016 she designed and produced the official award for the Berliner Festspiele as an artist. In 2012 and 2013 she was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen as a stage designer. Eva Veronica Born additionally enjoys working a lot in the independent international theater scene and in collectives.
