Hannah Beeck

Hannah Beeck first studied Cultural Studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin and gained experience in organisational and conceptual work at various renowned cultural institutions such as Haus der Kulturen der Welt, the Berlin International Film Festival, rbb television and the publishing house of the Tagesspiegel. During her studies, her interest in the research fields of scenic spaces and spatial dramaturgy grew. During her studies abroad in Lisbon, she was also able to devote herself increasingly to the fields of photography and film and realise own projects here. As artistic production assistant for the exhibition Contemporary Diagram – Berlin by Swedish artist Cecilia Jonsson, supported by the Schering Foundation, she was able to pursue her interest in the research field of staged spaces in the context of artistic research during the Berlin Art Week and wrote her bachelor thesis on this topic.

She gained practical experience in theatre work both as an assistant director and assistant in the fields of dramaturgy and design at Theater Bremen, the Marburg Schlossfestspiele and Schauspiel Köln. She was also involved in the Cologne Forum Theatre inszene e.V., where she carried out theatre education projects and designed her own audiovisual exhibition. Hannah would like to translate political and social questions into space and spatial processes, through a dramaturgical content-based examination on the one hand and innovative exhibition and theatre formats on the other.
