Laura Lara Alvarez

Laura Lara, originally from Colombia, developed an interest in visual arts at a very young age. She was mostly intrigued by the visual language of cinema, and how aesthetics can influence our perceptions and emotions. This interest led her to develop a passion for photography early on, and later to pursue a bachelor’s degree in media studies. During her undergraduate studies, she focused on film and media theory and applied her theoretical knowledge in self-organized film productions. These projects furthered her interest and affinity for aesthetics and spatial design.

After her degree she started a career in media production and participated in several intermedial projects. Last year, together with two friends, she founded a set design project called RESET. RESET is a creative collective that creates spaces and experiences with a focus on sustainability and aesthetics.

In order to broaden her knowledge by delving into both the technical and creative aspects of visual experience, she joined the program Bühnenbild_Szenischer Raum at the Technische Universität Berlin.
