Maria-Alice Bahra

Maria-Alice Bahra was born in Potsdam. She studied textile design at the FAK Schneeberg. Later, she began studying stage and costume design at the Berlin Weißensee Academy of Art under Prof. Volker Pfüller and Prof. Dr. Ruckhäberle. During her studies, she spent a year at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona in the field of performance – stage and completed her studies with a master’s year under Prof. Volker Pfüller. During her studies, she joined the independent group Theater Affekt in Berlin and began her first artistic collaborations with director Lars-Ole Walburg. After completing her studies, she received a DAAD scholarship to study abroad in Spain (Andalusia).

She works with directors Christiane Pohle, Amélie Niermeyer, Florian Fiedler, Bruno Cathomas, Arno Saul, Frank Pannhans, Ania Michaelis, Tom Kühnel and Bert Zander, among others. She has performed at various theatres, including Schauspiel Düsseldorf, Dresden, Frankfurt am Main, Hanover, Hamburg, Theater Basel, Sophiensaelen Berlin, Münchner Kammerspielen, Münchner Volkstheater, Akademietheater Wien, Salzburger Festspiele, Bayrische Staatsoper, Theater Oberhausen, TJW Leipzig, Theater Basel, Gripstheater, Volksbühne Berlin am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Opera Dijon and Residenztheater.
