Maria Basantes (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist from Ecuador and currently residing in Berlin. She studied Architecture in the TU Berlin and at the BTU Cottbus. Her self-taught artistic journey is a fusion of various mediums, including photography, digital art, illustrations, collages and video. At the core of her work lies a passion for crafting immersive experiences, shaping spaces, and conveying powerful imagery.

Her migrant history and the growth in this city serves as inspiration for her art. Her creative expressions are a statement to the transformation of both the external and internal worlds. She deconstructs the notions of systems and ideals skillfully, manifesting them in the ethereal forms of bodies and faces that grace her art, leaving a profound impression on all who engage with it.
