Mattea Müther grew up in Berlin and studied architecture in Potsdam and San Sebastián. Whilst working in architectural and exhibition design, she developed a growing interest in stage design and scenography. Creative and artistic work has been a part of her life since childhood and remains an important way for her to develop, explore and test ideas.
Internships at the Berliner Ensemble and the Deutsches Theater further deepened her interest in the connection between architecture, staging and spatial storytelling. She particularly values the collaboration between different disciplines and the shared process from the initial idea through to realisation.
In her creative work, she is interested in how spaces generate atmosphere and tension, and how they can make both inner and social situations experienced.
