Mila Thoma (she/her) was born in Luxembourg and moved to Berlin in 2019, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at TU Berlin in 2023. Over the next two years, she gained practical experience through internships in stage design at the Berliner Ensemble and the Deutsches Theater. She also worked in the art department on various film projects, including at the Film University Babelsberg. Her passion for model making and hand drawing deepens her work and attention to detail. In her personal project M/LA, she draws interiors on various surfaces. She regularly presents her artistic work in exhibitions. Dance has also been an important form of expression for her since childhood, further shaping her artistic sensibility. For Mila, stage design is the place where all her interests come together – architecture, art, dance, and theatre. She enjoys working in an interdisciplinary environment, where people from different fields collaborate to create something that has an impact beyond the moment. She loves how theatre can serve both as a space for escape and confrontation: a space where people can immerse themselves in other worlds for a short time, and at the same time a medium that addresses and reflects on socially relevant issues.
