Norman Heinrich

Stage and Costume Designer

After working for several years as a graduate engineer, Norman Heinrich studied for a master’s degree in stage and costume design under Prof. Peter Sykora at the TU Berlin. His stage design for the children’s opera Dr Ox V5.1 was realised as part of a realisation competition.
After graduating, he was employed as an assistant set designer for two seasons at the Berliner Ensemble under Claus Peymann. He has been working as a freelance stage and costume designer since 2007. From October 2012 to November 2013, Norman Heinrich was acting set designer at the Erfurt Theatre and designed the set for the world premiere of the opera Die Frauen der Toten by Alois Bröder. At Leipzig Opera House, he realised the stage sets for three Spiegelzelt productions in 2015 and for Wagner’s Lohengrin in 2022. Since 2017, he has been a lecturer in the Master’s programme Stage Design_Scenic Space at the TU Berlin. He is in charge of the stage + costume realisation competitions for the studio of the Chemnitz Schauspielhaus. Norman Heinrich is also a regular guest at Chemnitz Theatre with his own works.
