Reyhan Akdemir

Reyhan Akdemir was born in Michigan in 1995 and currently lives in Berlin. She graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design, where she developed a strong interest in storytelling and the role of visualization in narrative creation. After graduation, she worked as an art director across the culture, art, and fashion industries, gaining diverse design experience. These roles allowed her to merge various artistic disciplines, creating a profile that integrates graphic design, art direction, and creative production. Her work in fashion productions first exposed her to spatial design, leading her to explore the interaction of space, light, and objects, and ultimately shifting her focus to spatial storytelling.

In her designs, she seeks to blend realistic details with surreal elements that challenge perception — spaces where reality folds in on itself, perception shifts, and the familiar becomes strange. She is interested in the stories and memories that contribute to the character of a space. Her tools include graphic elements, typography, illustrations, moving images, and collages.
