Animal Farm

As part of a cooperation with the Paderborn Theatre, the students, under the direction of Prof. Kerstin Laube, developed the stage and costumes for four contemporary plays. Malte Schurau’s stage idea, a simple, playful space that allows for different constellations and levels of play with a multitude of large white sacks, is the basic space for all four productions. In the performative production “Animal Farm” (George Orwell), the sacks become the symbol and material of “working through”. The costume designers Sascha Röder and Ivana Vukovic dispense entirely with animal masks and costumes and interpret the animals as a uniform group of workers.
