We congratulate our students of the first semester, whose designs were selected for the realization at the Theater Paderborn. For the fifth time already, the degree program cooperates with the Theater Paderborn. Under the direction of Prof. Kerstin Laube, the students have designed stage and costume concepts for the theater-pedagogical “project clubs” for two contemporary pieces: “Kreuzweg” (Anna & Dietrich Brüggemann) and “Auerhaus” (Bov Bjerg).
“Auerhaus” tells of the utopia of community and the intense moment of growing up, where life is knocking on the door for six teenagers. Amina Nouns has designed a material-rich scope for this, in that the performers set themselves up and construct concrete scenes themselves time and again. The contemporary costumes by Oliver Burkhardt characterize the individuality of the characters.
“Way of the Cross” is a station drama in 14 pictures: The focus is on the 14-year-old Maria, torn between a strict Catholic faith and her reality as a teenager. Mara Barnabó has created a multi-layered translucent base space over gauze walls, in which game scenes are contrasted by different arrangement of the furniture and extreme light moods.
Lena Tiffert supports the remote, unapproachable atmosphere through a bright, almost colorless costume concept that is highly differentiated through groups.
The realizations take place from the beginning of March to the end of June 2018 in close cooperation with the directorial teams and the trades at the Theater Paderborn.
