We congratulate Carla Santocca Berges and Francesca Ercoli for the realization of their stage and costume design in the context of their master’s thesis for Shakespeare’s play.
What’s wrong with the state of Navarre? A new order is needed! Ferdinand, king of the country, decides to fast with his companions for three years, to study and to renounce women. As soon as the lords have sworn this by oath, the princess of France comes to visit with her court ladies…
For the new production of the romantic comedy, the Shakespeare Company Berlin works as usual with live music, rapid role changes and untamed joy of playing. The poetically modern translation by Christian Leonard makes Shakespeare’s centuries-old word joke seem quite contemporary and shows how fallible and vulnerable we all are when we fall in love.
